Job Description Reporting directly to the Senior Research Specialist and indirectly to the Center's senior management team, the Research Project Coordinator I position will assist principal investigators with the day-to-day management and execution of assigned research projects. This will include projects undertaken as part of the NJ Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Center and others as needed. Duties will include the development and execution of original research plans, schedules, and protocols to ensure successful completion of assigned projects. The Research Project Coordinator I position will: oversee training and outreach activities related to these projects; perform both quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis; and reinforce existing client/sponsor relationships and relationships with external constituents. The individual filling the Research Project Coordinator I position will be required to: complete work independently within broadly defined work objectives and with limited review of overall results. This position requires specialized knowledge in the field of planning and public policy and a solid understanding of the use and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices and terminology related to transportation planning and policy development.
Job Requirements This position requires a bachelor's degree and a minimum two years of professional experience working in the field of transportation planning and policy; five years of experience is strongly preferred. An advanced degree may be substituted for up to two years of professional experience. This position requires strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency using MicroSoft Office products. The individual filling this position will be assigned to work primarily on projects undertaken as part of the NJ Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Center which is managed by the Voorhees Transportation Center. For this reason, this position requires specialized knowledge and experience in the sub-field of bicycle and pedestrian planning and policy.
